Two exciting speakers will be delivering the A2IR2 webinars for August and September. The August seminar will be presented by Prof. Sanmi Koyejo. Sanmi Koyejo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Koyejo’s research interests are in developing the principles and practice of trustworthy machine learning. Additionally, Koyejo focuses on applications to neuroscience and healthcare.

We will follow this up with a presentation in September by Prof. Igor Mezic of the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics, the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prof. Mezic is best known for his work on operator theoretic methods, and he is largely credited for the re-emergence of the Koopman operator methods for nonlinear analysis.  Prof. Mezic holds a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology, an was a postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Warwick, in the UK. He joined the faculty of UCSB in 1995, where he became a full professor in 2003…
